A Fortune Global 500 company recently discovered an uncomfortable truth. After investing in enterprise-wide Generative AI (GenAI) access and mandating completion of AI training modules, adoption rates remained stubbornly low. Worse, employees were secretly using unauthorized "Shadow AI" tools they found more intuitive, bypassing approved systems, exposing sensitive data, and destroying ROI.

 

Leadership's response followed a predictable pattern: restrict access to control costs and risk. Adoption plummeted further.
